Hydrographic Institute participates in Eurachem workshop

On May 22 and 23, it took place at the Federal Institute of Metrology (METAS) in Bern, the Workshop Ensuring reliable and accurate results of analytical processes, where the Hydrographic Institute participated, through the Division of Chemistry and Pollution of the Marine Environment.

This workshop addressed topics related to the analytical process from sampling, sample preparation, to the measurement process. All these steps contribute to the measurement uncertainty of a given result, which is interpreted in a more appropriate and correct way.

The Hydrographic Institute participated in the Workshop with 2 works in the form of poster entitled Assessment of trends and correlations of parameters of a vast oceanic area robust to data uncertainty of the TS Carlos Borges, Objective assessment of the evolution of microplastic contamination in sediments from a vast coastal area of the TSB Vanessa Morgado and an oral presentation Comparison of standardized and novel methods for oil pill source identification in real spill scenarios reproduced in proficiency tests of the Superior Ana Catarina Rocha Technique.
