Hydrographic Institute participates in Assembly of the International Hydrographic Organization
From 1 to 5 May 2023, the 3rd Assembly of the International Hydrographic Organization (OHI) takes place in Monaco.
OHI, currently with 98 member states, of which Portugal has been a founding member since 1921, aims to coordinate and ensure quality standards in data acquisition and cartographic production, including timely standardisation and availability, essential for navigation safety and other maritime activities.
In the present Assembly, with 56 countries present and representatives of various international organizations and industry, an extensive five-day agenda is being discussed, including the strategic themes of OHI, the analysis of the work carried out in the last three years and the definition of guidelines for the future, in a time of profound technological changes in hydrography.
