Hydrographic Institute participates in the EURAMET-TC meeting

The Hydrographic Institute and the Portuguese Quality Institute were present at the EURAMET / Metrology in Chemistry Meeting held at the Laboratoire National de Métrologie et d'Essais in Paris. The Metrology in Chemistry group is divided into several subgroups, and the Hydrographic Institute participated as the designated Institute in the subgroup of inorganic analyses and the Portuguese Institute of Quality participated in the subgroups of gas analysis and electrochemistry.

During the meetings, EURAMET activities were presented, a review of measurement and calibration capabilities, a review of the European Metrology Programme for Innovation and Research projects under way and the presentation of the new projects to be submitted under EURAMET European Partnership on Metrology Calls 2023.

Participation in these meetings allows the Hydrographic Institute and the Portuguese Institute of Quality to respond to the emerging areas of our society, particularly in industry, environment and health, contributing to the dissemination of new developments and needs in the area of Chemical Metrology, as well as to have a privileged position for funding in actions aimed at metrological development, which is an example of the participation since November 2022, of the Division of Chemistry and Pollution of the Marine Environment in the PlasticTrace project.
