Hydrographic Institute participates in the EURAMET meeting

The Hydrographic Institute (HI), through the Chemical and Pollution Division of the Marine Environment, participated in the 18th Meeting of the EURAMET – Technical Committee for Quality (TC-Q), which took place during March at the Federal Institute of Metrology (METAS) in Bern, with the preparation of the report and oral presentation of the respective SGQ, the IH SGQ was approved by the permanent members of the Technical Committee TC-Q and recognized by the CIPM-MRA as the Designated Institute.

These meetings have an annual frequency and allow the exchange of knowledge and the implementation of best practices in the field of ISO 17025 and its implementation at the National Institutes of Metrology (NMI) and designated Institutes (DIs).

NMIs and DIs shall regularly report and submit their Quality Management System (SGQ) to the Technical Committee TC-Q and shall be evaluated by them. Oral presentations concerning the SGQ shall be held at the meetings and if they comply with the requirements of EURAMET, the laboratory shall be recognised by the Mutual Recognition Arrangement of the International Committee of Weights and Measurements (CIM MRA).
