Hydrographic Institute Participates in the 32nd JOCLAD
From April 3 to 5, Senior Technician Dora Carinhas, representing the Hydrographic Institute, took part in the Jornadas de Classificação e Análise de Dados (JOCLAD 2025), held at ISCAP – Polytechnic Institute of Porto.
Two papers were presented: “Trends in mean sea level and extreme events: particular case of leixões” and “Statistical approach to establishing geochemical bases for metal concentration in marine sediments: a case study of Madeira Island”.
The studies were carried out with the collaboration of members from the Marine Geology and Marine Chemistry and Pollution Divisions, the Navy, and the University of Évora.
The event fostered knowledge sharing, methodological discussions, and emphasized the importance of statistics in understanding environmental phenomena.
