Hydrographic Institute is present at the main congress of national geology

The Hydrographic Institute was present at the XI National Congress of Geology, the main meeting of Portuguese geologists, held between 16 and 20 July 2023, in the Department of the School of Earth Sciences of the University of Coimbra. 

With the work entitled "Sedimentary coverage in the continental shelf of the Algarve barlavento: seismo-stratigraphic analysis and recent evolution" authors André Vinhas and Aurora Rodrigues, from the Division of Marine Geology, showed the importance of studying the marine bed to understand the genesis of recent sedimentary coverage and evolution of the coastal environment since the last glaciary maximum.  

This is a contribution of the SEDMAR program, focused on mapping the marine sediments of the Portuguese margin.
