Hydrographic Institute in II Demonstration and Means of Civil Protection Agents - Security and Help
In the period from 28 to 30 September, the “II Demonstration and Means of Civil Protection Agents - Security and Help in Lisbon 2018” took place in Lisbon.
This event included the participation and demonstration of means and capabilities of the National Civil Protection Authority (ANPC), of the Municipal Civil Protection Service of Lisbon, Firefighters, National Institute of Medical Emergency, Red Cross, Armed Forces, National Maritime Authority and Civil Protection Agents of the National Park Freguesia Board.
The Hydrographic Institute, through the Naval Meteorological and Oceanographic Center (CMETOC), was present at this event, together with other capabilities of the Navy and the Armed Forces. A new Geospatial Information Integration System has been presented and demonstrated, capable of real-time geolocation of military forces on the ground and building a common operational panorama to support its command and control. This system, called GEOMIL, was developed at CMETOC and used this year to support the participation of the Marine Force engaged in forest patrol and surveillance under the FAUNOS protocol and HEFESTO plan established respectively with the Institute for Conservation of Nature and Forests (ICNF) and ANPC.
