Hydrographic Institute and Faculty of Fine Arts celebrate protocol
Today, December 12, a protocol between the Hydrographic Institute (IH) and the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon was celebrated.
The IH has its headquarters in the old Convent of the Trinas, classified as the ‘Imóvel of Public Interest’, preserving several collections in the field of the sciences and techniques of the sea, as well as art, embodied in important sets of tiles, mostly of the 18th century, as well as examples of painting and sculpture.
In line with the policy of the Portuguese Navy for the sector, the IH promotes the knowledge, appreciation and public disclosure of its museological collections, through exhibitions and conferences as well as cultural and educational actions;
In this protocol, there is mutual interest in establishing relationships of cooperation with a lasting character in the field of integrated studies, inventory, safeguarding, preservation and dissemination of the historical-artistic heritage, in conducting internships and academic works, and in the development of joint investigations aimed at increasing scientific knowledge, establishing the general bases of scientific and pedagogical cooperation between the parties, with a view to reciprocal use of potential in their respective areas of activity.
