Hydrographic Institute receives a group of participants from the European Coast Guard Functions Forum

As part of the activities of the European Coast Guard Functions Forum, whose presidency is currently held by Portugal, through the Navy and the National Maritime Authority, the Hydrographic Institute received, on 26 January 2017, a group of participants in the “Operations Portal” project. This activity was attended by members of the European Border and Coast Guard Agency (FRONTEX) and EMSA (European Maritime Safety Agency), the Navy and the National Maritime Authority, the United Kingdom Coast Guard, the Italian Coast Guard, the German Federal Police, the Polish Border Guard, among other national and foreign entities.

The European Coast Guard Functions Forum (ECGFF) is an informal, non-binding, voluntary, independent and non-political forum established in 2009 in Poland, which results from the desire to promote the development of multilateral cooperation in the area of Coast Guard functions. It is made up of Coast Guards and entities holding the Coast Guard functions of the Member States of the European Union and the countries belonging to the Schengen area, and is supported by the European Commission and the European agencies related to the exercise of the Coast Guard functions.
