Hydrographic Institute cooperates with the Azores Sea School

The oceanographer of the Hydrographic Institute (HI), Inês Martins, carried out a visit to the School of the Sea of the Azores, under the Cooperation Protocol established between the ADFMA (Association for the Development and Training of the Sea of the Azores) and the IH.

The main objective of the visit was to verify on-site the capacity installed at ADFMA as well as the preparation of Glider equipment for missions in the Azores. This equipment is essential for the collection of ocean data and for the in-depth study of marine ecosystems in the Atlantic.

With a strong focus on operational training, maintenance, mission preparation and piloting, the visit of the oceanographer of the Hydrographic Institute contributed significantly to the project, especially in a sensitive phase of familiarization with the equipment.

These initiatives highlight the relevance of cooperation between institutions to promote scientific research and technological innovation in the maritime sector.
