III Congress Seas of Lusophony - In the Sea, the future of the Lusophone Nations
From 20 to 23 May, in the auditorium of the Naval War School in Rio de Janeiro, III took place. This congress was held by the Institute of the Seas of Lusophonia, with the institutional support of the Brazilian and Portuguese Navys, in order to promote the knowledge, reflection and debate on the Sea in matters related to security, legal aspects, exploration with sustainability and the future of the sea involving the participation of military and civil authorities of various Portuguese-speaking countries. Congress Seas of Lusophonia with the theme: “At the Sea, the future of the Lusophone Nations.”
Conferences and lectures of Congress were distributed into 5 thematic panels:
" The Importance of the South Atlantic",
"The Law and the Sea",
"The Sea as a Source of Wealth,"
"Security at Sea" and
Lusophony and the Sea as a Cooperative Space
The Hydrographic Institute was represented by its Director-General, Rear Admiral António Silva Ribeiro, and gave a lecture entitled "The Race to the Sea", framed in the panel "The Law and the Sea".
