IHEDN Visit the Hydrographic Institute

On the morning of July 1, the Hydrographic Institute hosted the visit of auditors of the Institut des Hautes Études de Défense Nationale (IHEDN) Portugal, in a delegation of Vice Admiral Gérard Valin and the Deputy Director of that institute, Prefet Denis Conus.

The mission of the IHEDN is to promote a culture of defence, participate in strengthening national cohesion, and contribute to the development of strategic thinking on defence and security issues.

This year, in maritime affairs, IHEDN was in Portugal on a two-day study visit that began at the Hydrographic Institute. This session was attended by the presentation of the IH held by its director-general, Rear Admiral Carlos Ventura Soares, followed by an exhibition of the Center for Maritime Analysis and Operations - Narcotics (MAOC-N) delivered by the respective director, Dr. José Ferreira Leite. Ended with a communication from the Director-General of the Maritime Authority (DGAM), Vice Admiral António Coelho Cândido with the title: "The great challenges of maritime safety in Portugal – interministerial organization to face the risks and threats at sea. "
