IH visits the Hydrographic Institute of the Marina of Spain - 2022
The Director-General of the Hydrographic Institute (IH), Rear Admiral Mario Simões Marques, visited on May 4, the Hydrographic Institute of the Marina of Spain (IHM), based in Cadiz.
As part of the fifth bilateral meeting between the Instituto Hydrográfico de la Marina de Spain and the Instituto Hydrográfico, this meeting, which takes place annually, aims to plan and define cooperation actions, continuing the collaboration between the two institutes.
The defined actions aim to share knowledge, procedures and experiences in order to improve the response capacity in the activities under the responsibility of both Institutes, as well as the optimization of the resources available in works carried out in areas of common interest.
There was also the opportunity to hold a ceremony to present two nautical letters, namely:
- On the part of the HI: New edition of the Nautical Charter 26409 - 2nd Edition April 2022 “Approximation to Barra do Rio Minho (Plano do Porto de Caminha)”
- By the IHM: Nautical Letter 4171, 1st Edition April 2022, “Puertas de A Guarda y a Pasaxe”.
The publication of these letters resulted from a joint effort between the IH and the IHM to carry out hydrographic surveys, to share hydrographic and cartographic information and to standardise cartographic representation in border areas.
The IH entourage also featured the presence of the captain-of-mar-and-war Miguel Bessa Pacheco, the captain-of-fragnate João Vicente and Eng. Ana Moura.
