IH supports Francisco Lufinha in his last extreme challenge in kitesurfing

The Hydrographic Institute (IH) supported Francisco Lufinha in his last extreme challenge in kitesurfing. The IH had the responsibility of evaluating, in recent months, together with Francisco Lufinha, the most favorable weather conditions for the success of this new adventure.
It was the “very strong” wind forecast of the North Quadrant and the “small wave” maritime agitation, persistent for the period from July 5th to 7th, which gave green light to the exit towards a new world record.

To wish him the luck and courage necessary for this challenge, the IH made a point of being present in the departure of the sailor, at the Cais das Colunas, in Lisbon.
As he has used us, Francisco Lufinha has categorically overcome the adversities of our ocean to reach a new world record, as he walks 847 kilometers, in kitesurfing, without stopping, for 47h37m.

It is already the third time that the Hydrographic Institute has supported boatman Francisco Lufinha in his challenges in kitesurfing, and will continue to support his future odysseys by making available to him the technical and scientific capabilities of this institute in the knowledge and prediction of maritime agitation.
