IH welcomes the representative in Naples of COMNAVETOCCOM

On February 12, the Director-General of the Hydrographic Institute (IH), Rear Admiral Carlos Ventura Soares, received a visit from Dr. George Elenbaas as representative in Naples of the naval commander Meteorology and Oceanography Command (COMNAVETOCCOM), Admiral John Okon.

The visit was accompanied by Commander Scott Worthington, Defense Cooperation Officer of the United States Embassy in Lisbon.

It was an opportunity to discuss matters of common military interest with regard to safety and meteo-oceanographic support for naval operations. It should be noted that COMNAVETOCCOM provides environmental information to support the United States Naval and Joint Forces.
