IH receives the visit of the auditors of the Promotion Course to Superior Official 2018-2019 - 2nd edition

The Hydrographic Institute received the visit of 38 auditors of the 2nd edition of the Promotion Course to Superior Officer (CPOS) 2018-2019 accompanied by the Course Director and simultaneously professor of the Navy Specific Teaching Area, CFR FZ Lopes Carrilho, of the Military University Institute.

This visit was carried out in the context of the Curricular Unit of Naval Doctrine and aimed to make known the organic structure and activities developed by the IH.

The Vice Admiral Hydrographic Base Sarmento Gouveia, in Seixal, was the starting point of this visit, where the activity dedicated to the calibration and repair of the technical-scientific instruments developed at the Maritime Instrumentation Center and the Calibration Laboratory was presented, then passing by the Oceanography and Marine Geology panels and the Hydrographic Brigade.

The second part of the visit was held at the headquarters building in Lisbon, where they had the opportunity to visit the technical and scientific divisions, the GEOMETOC Centre of Excellence and the training given at the School of Hydrography and Oceanography.

The visit ended at the Library with a group photograph with the presence of the Director General of the Hydrographic Institute, Rear Admiral Carlos Ventura Soares.
