IH performs top-hydrographic survey in the common Faro-Olhão bar

Between November 24 and December 5, 2014, the Hydrographic Institute carried out the top-hydrographic survey of the Faro-Olhão common bar, which resulted from a request from the Administration of the Ports of Sines and the Algarve, S. A.
The work aimed to collect updated top-hydrographic information and was executed by a team from the Hydrographic Brigade.

The hydrographic survey was carried out with a multi-beam probe, installed on board the "Mergillon" vessel, and with a simple beam probe, placed on a boat. The topographical profiles of the bar's inlet jetties were also made using GNSS equipment, geometric leveling and coordination of navigation aid.
