IH participates in Forum for Exchange of Mutual Multibeam Experiences 2015
The 2015 edition of the forum for the exchange of experiences of users of multi-beam systems (FEMME), organised by Kongsberg, took place from 17 to 19 November in Singapore.
The representative of the Hydrographic Institute, together with two officers from the La Marina Hydrographic Institute (IHM-Spain), made a presentation on the theme “Hydrographic Collaboration between Spanish Hydrographic Institute and Portuguese Hydrographic Institute”. With this presentation, it was intended to make known the various hydrographic works carried out together with the IHM, which aimed to exchange experiences in the operation of the various equipment, during the acquisition and analysis of data from the probe systems, and the exchange of procedures and methodologies in the processing and quality control of the baptimeter information.
The presentation had a great reception on the part of the audience, because unlike the usual hydrographic collaboration projects in the framework of “Capacity Building”, carried out under the auspices of the International Hydrographic Organization (OHI), whose main objective is usually focused on building the hydrographic capabilities of one of the intervening countries, this work was carried out by two founding members of OHI Institutes, with proven experience and hydrographic capacity, whose merit is internationally recognized and which shared experiences and knowledge with each other, with a view to optimizing the operation and processing of data from the probe systems and, consequently, an increase in their efficiency.
