IH participates in the 16th group meeting E-SURFMAR Expert Team - Data Buy
The Hydrographic Institute participated in the 16th meeting of the E-SURFMAR Expert Team - Data Buy, which took place from 21 to 23 May in Puertos del Estado, Madrid. 28 experts from 11 different countries attended the meeting, discussing the new phase of the European Weather Services (EUMETNET) programme for 2019-2023.
E-SURFMAR (Surface Marine Operational Service) is a European programme whose main objective is to coordinate, optimize and progressively integrate European ocean observation activities, in support of numerical forecasts and climate monitoring. The participation of the IH in this meeting improved the exchange of technical information on the acquisition and quality control of data collected by the national buoy network, as well as the dissemination of data through the Global Telecommunications System.
