IH Edits New Charter of the Port of Luanda

The first edition of the new Nautical Charter 16303 – “Porto de Luanda” was recently published, which responds to the need to update the nautical cartography of Angola’s ports. This new letter cancels the 360 letter that had been produced with hydrographic data acquired by the Hydrographic Mission of Angola and S. Tomé between 1967 and 1969.

In the production of the new nautical charter of the port of Luanda, hydrographic data acquired by the Hydrographic Brigade was used in December 2021, under the Open Sea Mission (see news https://www.hydrografico.pt/noticia/874). 

Both data acquisition and production of the new letter were carried out in close collaboration with the National Maritime Agency of Angola. 

The hydrographic survey for this letter was attended by a group of hydrographers from the Angolan Navy.
