Hydrographic survey in the Passo da Barra Sul do Porto de Lisboa - 2020

The Hydrographic Brigade conducted the hydrographic survey of Passo da Barra Sul do Porto de Lisboa between June 29 and July 8.

This work is part of the inter-administrative contract concluded between the Hydrographic Institute and the Lisbon Port Administration, with the main objective of ensuring the initial characterization of the fund that precedes the execution of dredging operations, enabling its planning and future calculation of dredging volumes.

This survey was carried out on board the UAM Atlanta speedboat, equipped with a sophisticated multi-beam probe system whose ability to acquire high-quality data allows to generate high-resolution batimetric models, enabling a detailed characterization of the background.

A hydrographer, an equipment maintenance technician, a boatmaster and the three military personnel who form the garrison of the Atlanta UAM are involved. The mission had 52 hours of navigation and 28 hours of surveying, having traveled 185 km over spinning and probed an area of 4 km2.
