Hydrographic survey of Barra Sul’s step in the port of Lisbon - 2019

The Hydrographic Brigade carried out, between 13 and 31 May, the hydrographic survey of the step of Barra Sul of the port of Lisbon.

This work is part of the inter-administrative contract concluded between the Hydrographic Institute and the Lisbon Port Administration, with the main objective of ensuring the initial characterization of the fund that precedes the execution of dredging operations, enabling its planning and future calculation of dredging volumes.

A hydrographer, a hydrography technician, four boat owners (2 in training) and two equipment maintenance technicians (1 in training).

This survey was carried out on board the boat “Mergulhão”, equipped with a sophisticated multi-beam probe system whose ability to acquire high quality data allows to generate high resolution batimetric models.
