Hydrographic survey in Cape Verde: Ports of Sotavento

Under the cooperation agreement between Portugal and Cape Verde, the Maritime and Port Agency of Cape Verde (AMPCV) requested from the Hydrographic Institute another port survey campaign, with the aim of acquiring topographic and baptismal information to update nautical cartography. 

The surveys were conducted by a team of the Hydrographic Brigade, between February 14 and March 16, 2016, and included the following activities:

Coordination of support points and establishment of local networks to support horizontal and vertical positioning through Global Navigation Satellite System observations;

Geometric and trigonometric levels for quota transport;

Tide height observation;

Topography of port structures, buildings and areas of cartographic interest;

Coordination of navigational aids (fixed and floating);

Hydrographic survey (LH) with simple beam probe up to 25 m depth.
