Exhibition at the Portuguese Communications Foundation

A team from the Hydrographic Institute visited the exhibition “The Submarine Cape in a Sea of Connectivity” at the Portuguese Communications Foundation.

This exhibition reveals the importance of submarine cables in the global communications network and the centrality that Portugal assumes in this network.

Over 99% of communications traffic between the various continents is provided by submarine cables.

The Hydrographic Institute has collaborated on this initiative, having provided a sonar and an ROV (remote operation submarine vehicle) that are part of the exhibition.
