EHIR activated to provide support in Borba searches
The Rapid Intervention Hydrographic Team (EHIR) was again activated, following the request made by the National Civil Protection Authority, to provide support in the search for the collapse of the quarry in Borba.
EHIR departed from the Vice Admiral Hydrographic Base Sarmento Gouveia to the site on November 22, with a boat and a water bike with simple beam system and the lateral sonar equipment and submarine vehicle operated remotely (ROV).
On site, the conditions for operating with the means were evaluated, particularly with the lateral sonar.
On the 23rd they pursued the tests of the lateral sonar in order to obtain positive results for the detailed evaluation of the quarry fund.
