Director of EHO of the Hydrographic Institute participates in the IBSC Meeting in Singapore

After the election of Captain Leonel Pereira Manteigas, Director of the Hydrography and Oceanography School (EHO) of the Hydrographic Institute as a representative of the International Hydrographic Organization (OHI) at the International Board on Standards of Competence for Hydrographic Surveyors and Nautical Cartographers (IBSC), he participated in the interim meeting of 2018. This meeting, which took place from 3 to 9 November 2018, was hosted by the Maritime Authority and Singapore Port.

This meeting discussed the submissions of hydrography and nautical cartography courses of some institutions that had not been recognized at the previous meeting, a review of the documentation supporting the preparation of submissions and further documentation developed to help institutions prepare submissions that could be recognized in the first submission.

The next meeting, which will have a record number of submissions, will be organised by the United States representative institution at OHI, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and will take place in 2019 in Honolulu, Hawaii.
