Director-General of OH elected representative of CHATO
Rear Admiral Carlos Ventura Soares, Director General of the Hydrographic Institute (IH) and National Hydrographer, was elected as representative of the Eastern Atlantic Hydrographic Commission (CHATO) at the Council of the International Hydrographic Organization (OHI) for the period 2020 to 2022.
HI is an intergovernmental, advisory and technical organisation established in 1921 to support the safety of navigation and the protection of the marine environment.
The CHATO is composed of the IHO Member States which are bathed in the Eastern Atlantic, Cameroon, France, Morocco, Nigeria, Portugal and Spain and have as their associates the other coastal states of the region.
