Drifting buoys launched by the NRP Sagres

The World Tour of the NRP Continuous Sagres.

The School Ship left Buenos Aires on March 03, precisely 20 days ago, this being one of the largest taken from this great journey.

Between Buenos Aires and Cape Town they launched 8 more drifting buoys that continue to contribute to the knowledge of the oceans and climate of our planet. In total, 16 buoys have been launched in the Atlantic Ocean since the beginning of their voyage on 5 January.

These buoys are contributing to the Global Programme of Derivatives (Global Drifter Program – GDP), and their data can be tracked in real time : https://www.aoml. noaa.gov/phod/gdp/real-time_data. php
