World Hydrography Day Celebration

World Hydrography Day, June 21, is an opportunity for the International Hydrographic Organization (OHI) (https://iho.int/en/) and its 93 Member States, including Portugal through the Hydrographic Institute, to reaffirm their commitment to increase awareness of the importance of hydrography and to continue coordinating their activities.

This year, the theme of the celebration was the key role hydrography can play in supporting autonomous technologies. This idea was transposed into the motto “Hydrography Enabling Autonomous Technologies”

To mark the date, OHI released a film we share here. Some member countries celebrated this day in the same way, with the dissemination of films alluding to the theme (https://iho.int/en/whd-2020-celebrations-around-the-world) and the Hydrographic Institute was one of them.
