Navy Day 2018 - May 20, 1498

On May 20, in Peniche, Navy Day was marked.

Navy Day is celebrated on this date in honor of the arrival of Vasco da Gama to Calecute in India on May 20, 1498.

The celebrations took place between 13 and 20 May. During this week the Portuguese Navy opened its doors and promoted a program with various activities aimed at citizens.

The Hydrographic Institute, as an organ of the Navy and State Laboratory, was present with an exhibition on its areas of activity.
