Commander Barroqueiro Appointed as New Head of CGEOMETOC
Commander (Captain) Pires Barroqueiro assumed office on 15 December as Head of the Maritime Geospatial, Meteorological and Oceanographic Centre (CGEOMETOC), succeeding Commander (Captain) Quaresma dos Santos, in a ceremony presided over by the Director-General of the Hydrographic Institute (IH), Rear Admiral Ramalho Marreiros.
The Hydrographic Institute expresses its deep appreciation to Commander Quaresma dos Santos for the strong sense of mission, dedication and competence with which he served the Institute over 25 years, leaving a significant contribution to the development and consolidation of CGEOMETOC and to the fulfilment of the IH’s mission.
To Commander Pires Barroqueiro, the Hydrographic Institute extends its best wishes for success in the performance of his new duties.
