Collaboration between Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere and Hydrographic Institute
Information sharing is central to the development of an integrated policy of the sea and coastal areas, and institutional cooperation is an added value for the promotion and development of scientific knowledge and technological development. There are advantages to the mutual attributions in the collaboration between IPMA and IH, recognizing the objective of improving the performance of their specific tasks, exploring the potential of each and the appreciation of the action of both, at the service of the country and society.
In this sense, it took place on Tuesday, August 13, the signing of a contract between the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere (IPMA) and the Hydrographic Institute (IH), aiming to carry out the hydrographic survey and remote classification of the type of fund off Viana do Castelo sul, Leixões and Figueira da Foz.
This contract is part of a broader collaboration agreement aimed at exchanging experience, knowledge and technical and scientific information, as well as promoting technical and scientific development activities in the fields of hydrography, physical oceanography, chemistry, marine geology, nautical documentation and hydrographic cartography.
