Watershed Brigade initiates top-hydrographic survey of the river waterway Douro

The water brigade began a top-hydrographic survey of the Douro River waterway on February 6, 2018, with an expected duration of 29 days.

This work stems from the Institutional Cooperation Agreement between the Institute of Mobility and Transport (IMT), I.P. and the Hydrographic Institute (IH) and will be fundamental for the future maritime marking project and for the production of river Douro hydrographic cartography.

A multidisciplinary team of 7 elements, the Mergluhão waterboat equipped with a multi-beam system, a boat, topographic equipment and tide reading, were involved in this mission.
