Azinheira Hydrographic Base welcomes visit from Nova SBE students
The Azinheira Hydrographic Base welcomed, on November 20, a group of students from the Bachelor’s Degree in Ocean Studies at Nova SBE, as part of the ongoing collaboration between the School and the Hydrographic Institute (IH).
During the visit, the students had the opportunity to explore various sensors and instruments used by the IH in oceanographic campaigns, deepening their practical knowledge in physical oceanography. They were also given direct contact with the calibration processes of hydro-oceanographic equipment, essential for ensuring the reliability of measurements carried out during scientific surveys.
This visit is part of a set of activities planned within the collaboration between the IH and Nova SBE, particularly in the scope of the curricular unit “Principles of Oceanography”, contributing to direct engagement between students and leading maritime institutions.
