Angola’s National Maritime Agency visits the Hydrographic Institute
From 14 to 18 September 2023, a delegation from the National Maritime Agency of Angola (AMN) visited the Hydrographic Institute (HI) for technical meetings in the field of technical and scientific cooperation in the fields of hydrography.
The entourage was formed by the Maritime Safety and Hydrography Administrator, Commander José Santana, by the Local Services Administrator, Eng.o. Edgardo Ferreira, Director of Hydrography, Oceanography and Research, Eng.o Helder Rufino and the Maritime Safety Inspector, Higino Gonga.
AMN is the Angolan institution responsible for maritime safety, hydrographic surveys and nautical cartography production. However, it is still in the process of national development of those capacities.
The IH, in addition to national hydrographic service, is also responsible for updating the cartography of Angola's maritime spaces before the International Hydrographic Organization and the maritime community in general.
The training, training, technical support and planning of hydrographic surveys in Angola were topics on the agenda. IH is also internationally recognised for cooperation in hydrography with the Lusophone countries.
