The IH Cartotec

The Hydrographic Institute (HI) library has a collection of about 6000 documents dated from the beginning of the 19th century to the present day. Its update is mainly due to the cartographic production of the HI as well as the exchange with other national and international institutions.

The current facilities of the cartóteca were inaugurated on February 27, 2018, the result of a thorough work of modernization and optimization of spaces and reorganization of their contents.

Currently, once the entire existing collection has been digitized, the final processing of the images obtained is underway and the inventory of the letters is also expected to be made available on the IH Internet portal.
