Portuguese Cartographic Responsibility in Africa

An article was published in the prestigious magazine “The International Hydrographic Review” published by the International Hydrographic Organization.

The article highlights the effort made by the Portuguese Navy and the Hydrographic Institute, in this century, in conducting hydrographic surveys in order to update the nautical cartography of the Portuguese Official African Countries, countries where Portugal is still recognized as the Primary Cartographic Authority. Parallelly, training actions for the development of hydrographic services in those countries are described.
