The NRP hydro-oceanographic campaign Admiral Gago Coutinho continues on the way to the relocation of the ocean buoy of Faro
The NRP Admiral Gago Coutinho, in collaboration with the Marine Geology Division of the Hydrographic Institute, concluded on 13 April another stage of the ongoing multidisciplinary hydro-oceanographic mission.
This phase consisted essentially of collecting vertical sediment samples through vibrocorer and gravity staining between the Tejo and Sesimbra delta at depths between 40 and 150m.
The ship is now on the south coast of the Algarve, in order to merge the oceanic multiparametric buoy of Faro, a buoy that had been removed on April 2 in the context of the maintenance of the coastal ocean monitoring network guaranteed by the Hydrographic Institute.
