5th Hydrographic Engineering Days began today at the Hydrographic Institute
On this first day, after the opening session, chaired by the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Armada, Vice Admiral Jorge Novo Palma, accompanied by the Director-General of the Hydrographic Institute, Rear Admiral António Coelho Candido, and by the President of the National Laboratory of Energy and Geology, Eng. Teresa Ponce de León, the program was carried out with sessions dedicated to the themes of the Marine and Oceanographic Engineering, Hydrography, Chemical Oceanography, Operational Oceanography and Geological Oceanography.
During this event, inserted in the week of World Hydrography Day on June 21, this year under the theme “Bathymetry - the foundation for sustainable seas, oceans and waterways”, it is intended to provide the scientific community with the debate and the boost of new opportunities in research on the themes related to hydrological engineering, as well as in the areas that interact with it.
The 5th Water Engineering Days end on June 21. The closing session is scheduled for 16:15, which will be attended by distinguished guests.
