Organisation

The Tide Tables published by the Instituto Hidrográfico are structured in separate volumes, grouping information relating to ports located in national territory and in African countries with Portuguese as an official language.

They comprise:

• Volume I — PORTUGAL – Ports of mainland Portugal and of the archipelagos of the Azores and Madeira.
  
• Volume II — AFRICAN COUNTRIES WITH PORTUGUESE AS AN OFFICIAL LANGUAGE – Ports of Cabo Verde, Guinea-Bissau, São Tomé and Príncipe, Angola and Mozambique.
  

Information Provided

The Tide Tables include the following basic information:

— Predictions of times and heights of high and low water for the main ports;
— Hourly tidal heights for selected principal ports included in Volume I;
— Tidal differences and ratios for secondary ports referenced to the main ports;
— Fundamental harmonic constants for the main ports;
— Tidal elements for the principal ports;
— Phases of the Moon.

Format and Access

At present, both Volumes I and II are available exclusively in digital format, accessible through the IH “Loja do Navegante” online platform.
