MyCoast
The MyCoast project was designed to strengthen the risk management systems in the Atlantic region by enhancing interoperability among observation systems, forecasting platforms, and end users.
This project aimed to establish an Operational Coastal Atlantic Observatory, pooling the capabilities of the five participating countries and leveraging existing cross-border cooperation.
All project efforts were focused on improving coastal monitoring and developing forecasting tools to support emergency response to extreme events—such as coastal flooding, maritime safety challenges, and marine pollution.
MyCoast also facilitated the optimization, validation and intercomparison of nine coastal and local forecasting tools aligned with the Copernicus Marine Service, and produced policy instruments, operational guides, methodologies (e.g. for HF radars) and cost-benefit analyses.
