Aquimar

The AQUIMAR project - Marine Knowledge supporting Aquaculture aims to:

• Identify the best suited locations to aquaculture development, based on the areas already delimited in the Maritime Spatial Planning Plan (potential aquaculture);
• Characterize oceanographic, physical-chemical, geochemical, and biological conditions to optimize:
  • Selection of sites for the implementation of cultivation units and the energy efficiency of the cultivated species.
  • Assess the feasibility of introducing new cultured species and estimate the carrying capacity of each location.
