2010 Hydrographic Engineering Days
The Hydrographic Institute organized for the first time the Hydrographic Engineering Days in 2010.
This initiative was part of the World Hydrography Day and the celebrations of the fiftieth anniversary of this Navy body, which is simultaneously a State Laboratory.
These 1st Hydrographic Engineering Days took place in the auditoriums of the Hydrographic Institute, during the 21st and 22nd of June, with the participation of more than one hundred and thirty specialists, professors and university students linked to the various areas related to the sciences and techniques of the sea.
The approximately 80 presentations were distributed by eight panels, namely Hydrography, Nautical Cartography, Navigation Methods and Safety, Oceanography, Operational Oceanography, Coastal and Marine Geology, Marine Chemistry and Geographic Information Systems and Data Management of the Marine Environment.
With these scientific days taking place biennially, it is intended to constitute a technical and scientific forum of national scope to focus on the area of hydrographic engineering and the areas that connect with it more directly, such as Oceanography, Navigation and Marine Geology.
