Hydrographic Institute celebrates National Sea Day with new Internet portal
The celebration of the National Day of the Sea originated from the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, which entered into force on 16 November 1994. Portugal ratified the document in 1997.
This convention is very important, because it is from it that the maritime limits inherent in the Exclusive Economic Zone and the Continental Platform are established.
Portugal is a country strongly linked to the sea, being marked for posteriority as the country of maritime discoveries.
The Hydrographic Institute celebrates the date with the presentation of its new Internet portal.
We hope you like it!
