Portuguese Hydrographic Institute hosts visit from the Maritime Authority Advanced Course

The Portuguese Hydrographic Institute (IH) welcomed, last week, a visit from eight trainees of the Maritime Authority Advanced Course, aimed at preparing future Harbour Masters, Deputy Harbour Masters and Chief Coxswains of the Harbourmaster’s Offices.

During the visit, the personnel had the opportunity to learn about the work carried out across the Institute’s various divisions, namely the Navigation Division, the Scientific and Technical Data Centre Division, the Oceanography Division and the Hydrography Division, as well as the Maritime Geospatial, Meteorological and Oceanographic Centre (CGEOMETOC) and the Chemistry and Marine Geology laboratories.
