IH image represents the month of February in the calendar of Kongsberg Maritime.

The image “TWO MARGINS – LISBON, TEJO RIVER AND ALMADA”, by the Hydrographic Institute, was selected by Kongsberg Maritime to represent the month of February in its international calendar of 2019.

The hydrographic surveys carried out by the River Hydrographic Brigade Tejo with high resolution multi-beam probes began in 2015.

Several hydrographic campaigns have been conducted each year to update the baptometric information. The batimetric model represented in the image has a resolution of 1 meter with a range of depths from 0 to 80 meters.

In this batimetric model it is possible to observe a wide variety of underwater dunes and several ships sunk with great definition, framed with the banks of the cities of Lisbon and Almada.
