Director of the School of Hydrography and Oceanography holds Workshop in Colombia

In June 2018, CMG Leonel Pereira Manteigas, Director of the Hydrography and Oceanography School (EHO) of the Hydrographic Institute (IH), advised the Colombian Naval School (ENAP) to prepare the submission of a hydrography course program to the International Board on Standards of Competence for Hydrographic Surveyors and Nautical Cartooners (IBSC).

The course was recently recognized with category A, the highest.

To prepare its implementation, ENAP requested the collaboration of Cte. Keepers for the realization of a workshop which took place in Cartagena of the Indies, between December 4 and 8.

This workshop participated in the Colombian Naval School, Oceanographic and Hydrographic Research Center and the Colombian Navy School of Sergeants and Squares. In addition to the experience of the IH School of Hydrography and Oceanography, an institution with international hydrography courses recognized since 1983, issues related to the initial implementation of the courses and a medium-term strategy were addressed, for the affirmation of the Colombian Naval School as a training center in reference hydrography, in Spanish, at regional and global level.
