Background

The Eastern Atlantic Hydrographic Commission (EAtHC) is a regional hydrographic commission within the framework of the International Hydrographic Organization (IHO), in conformity with Administrative Resolution T1.2 of the IHO and Decision n° 26 of the XIIth International Hydrographic Conference, established in 1984.

Members of the Commission shall be the countries bordering the Eastern Atlantic included in NAVAREA – II (from 48°27 North to 6° South) who are Members of the IHO and whose representatives are signatories of EAtHC Statutes . The countries included in NAVAREA II who are not IHO members but who wish to cooperate in the work of the Commission, and whose representatives are signatories to the present Statutes, may become Associate Members.
